「了解」は、相手の言ったことがわかった時に使う言葉です。
"了解" is a word used when you understand what the other person said.
友達や同僚には「了解」だけで返事できますが、目上の人にはていねいな言い方のほうがいいです。
You can reply with just "了解" to friends or colleagues, but it's better to use a polite expression with superiors.
