What Langly is

Langly is a place to learn languages by watching videos you can actually understand. It's a free library of real YouTube videos, graded into five difficulty levels — from Super beginner to Advanced — so you can always find something at your level and simply watch.

Why comprehensible input

Languages are acquired, not memorized. When you spend a lot of time with material you mostly understand — just slightly below your ceiling — words and grammar stick on their own, the way they did in your first language. That's comprehensible input, and video is its best format: faces, gestures and context carry meaning that text alone can't.

The hard part has always been finding enough material at the right level. That's the problem Langly solves.

How it works

• Graded levels — every video's vocabulary is measured against Langly's whole corpus and assigned one of five levels, so the level reflects the words actually spoken, not a guess.
• Interactive subtitles — tap any sentence for a breakdown with readings and translations; tap any word to open a learner's dictionary written for learners of that language.
• Input hours — Langly counts every minute you watch automatically and shows your progress along the level roadmap, so you can see the hours adding up toward fluency.
